Here is what they get. **Short answer:** **No.** When you hide a photo, Apple moves it to the Hidden album and says it **doesn't appear anywhere else in Photos**, so searching for a person, place or text won't surface it. The catch: a **duplicate** you didn't hide is a separate photo and still shows in results. Search in Photos looks through your library and collections, so a hidden photo simply isn't there to match. Search matches dates, places, people you named, text in the image and captions. If the same shot exists twice, for example a saved copy or an edited duplicate, each copy is its own photo. Hiding one doesn't hide the other. Who this matters for: a friend or coworker you hand your phone to with Photos open. They can search, but they get only what you haven't hidden. If Photos found copies of the photo, they are listed there. A person would have to open the Hidden album itself, which on iOS 16 and later asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before showing anything. ### Why does a photo I hid still appear when I search?
