- Answer: Yes, in Hidden

iCloud.com works in any browser, on any computer, for anyone who can sign in to your Apple Account.

**Short answer:** **Yes, in the Hidden album.** On iCloud.com hidden photos aren't in your library, but Apple's steps to see them are simply: sign in, select **Hidden** in the sidebar, then **Show Hidden Photos**. Anyone who can sign in to your Apple Account can do that. For photos that must stay private there, use a locked note with its own password.

The answer

## What shows and what doesn't

- **iCloud.com library**Hidden photos left out
- **Hidden in the sidebar**Show Hidden Photos reveals them
- **Notes locked with a custom password**Need that password
- **Notes locked with your passcode**Can't be viewed there

Why

## Why it works this way

iCloud.com shows your iCloud Photos library. Apple's iCloud User Guide says hidden photos don't appear in the library, and you view them by selecting **Hidden** in the sidebar, then **Show Hidden Photos**.

The gate on iCloud.com is your **Apple Account sign-in**, not your iPhone's Face ID. Someone who knows your Apple Account password, or is already signed in on a computer you share, gets to the Hidden album from any browser.

Locked notes behave differently. Apple says notes locked with a **custom notes password** open on iCloud.com only with that password, and notes locked with your **device passcode can't be viewed** on iCloud.com at all.

3 steps

## Move photos into a locked note instead

A note locked with a custom notes password stays closed on iCloud.com without that password.

1. **Put the photos in a note.** Open **Notes**, start a new note and add the photos with the camera or attachment button.
2. **Tap ••• then Lock.** In the note, tap the **More** button (•••), then **Lock**. Choose your iPhone passcode or a separate notes password (iOS 16 and later).
3. **Delete the originals.** Delete the photos from Photos, then open **Recently Deleted** and delete them there too.

Questions

## iCloud.com: questions

### Can someone see my hidden photos on iCloud.com?

Yes, if they can sign in to your Apple Account. Hidden photos aren't in the iCloud.com library, but Apple's steps to view them are to select Hidden in the sidebar and then Show Hidden Photos. Your iPhone's Face ID doesn't protect them there, so guard your Apple Account password.

### Are locked notes visible on iCloud.com?

Only with the password. Apple says notes locked with a custom notes password open on iCloud.com after you enter that password, and notes locked with your device passcode or Mac login password can't be viewed on iCloud.com at all. Either way the contents stay hidden from someone who only has your Apple Account.
